Lung ultrasound findings in meconium aspiration syndrome

In the first published description of lung ultrasound findings in meconium aspiration syndrome, a series of six neonates with meconium aspiration syndrome underwent lung ultrasound in the first few hours after birth. Dynamic findings noted on ultrasound were: B-pattern (interstitial) lines coalescent or sparse; consolidations; atelectasis; and bronchograms. B lines are vertically oriented artifacts that move with respiration and extend from the pleural line to the edge of the screen.
